Join Good Vibes teachers Ryan Mannix and Jane Baker for a supportive and empowering 4-week journey designed for those at the start of their yoga journey. This beginner-focused course is an invitation to slow down, connect with your body, and build a strong, confident foundation on the mat.
Across four Saturdays in July, Ryan and Jane will guide you through the essential principles of asana, helping you understand how your body moves, how to approach alignment safely, and how to make each posture work for you.
Each week, you will explore foundational shapes, simple sequences, and accessible breathing techniques, while learning how to break down poses in a way that feels clear, steady, and supportive. This is a space to ask questions, move at your own pace, and develop confidence in a welcoming environment.
Whether you are completely new to yoga, returning after time away, or looking to deepen your understanding of the basics, this course offers the tools to help you feel comfortable and safe in your practice.
Session 1 - July 4 - Getting Comfortable
We will begin the journey by laying the groundwork. This session focuses on key foundational postures you’ll encounter in most classes, including Mountain Pose, Downward Facing Dog, Plank, and Low Plank. Together, we’ll explore alignment, stability, and how to create a strong base for all movement.
Session 2 - July 11 - Happy Hips This session centres around the hips building both mobility and strength. You will be guided through shapes such as Warrior poses, Side Angle, Triangle, and Half Moon and learn how to move with support and ease, especially if you’ve experienced tightness or instability in the lower body.
Session 3 - July 18 - Finding Stability Here, we refine pelvic positioning and explore how stability in the hips creates freedom throughout the body. Expect to work with Pyramid Pose, revolved shapes, and Warrior III, in order to understand how to make the asana feel therapeutic and stable.
Session 4 - July 25 - Let's Get Mobile Our final session shifts focus to the spine and the body’s central axis. Through gentle backbends and forward folds, you’ll learn how to safely create space, improve mobility, and counterbalance the effects of everyday posture. This session is about opening the spine and learn techniques to create space safely.
All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners.
